Debut album by Acetate Caliphate
Nayan Jakobsen and Teit Voss form the Copenhagen based duo Acetate Caliphate. On their debut album they explore the musical traditions and genres from a wide range of middle eastern contries such as Lebanese New Wave and Iraqi disco dating to the 70's and 80's. Combined with the aesthetics of instrumental hiphop, a powerful cinematic sound image is generated on the album's 9 tracks. The primary focus is to support the middle eastern sound with heavy drums and deepfelt bass.
The album is available on a limited vinyl edition of 200 black and 15 unique black/white copies.
